This Facebook post claiming Zimbabwean business tycoon and politician Kudakwashe Tagwirei is offering an investment opportunity is FAKE.
The post originates from an account using the name and image of the tycoon, therefore creating an impression that the message is from him.
The post under investigation invites prospective investors to invest their money with the promise that it will generate income that secures their future. It notes that the investment gives a $10 welcome bonus.
“What can USD500 do for your future ? This month, that small amount of money you invest earns you a massive outpouring income level and helps you build a habit that could serve your future life.”
But is Kudakwashe Tagwirei running any such investments?
First, a search for the businessman on Facebook established that there are several accounts in his name, but none is verified.
A similar search on X established that there are also multiple accounts in his name, but none is verified.
On 6 August 2025, Sakunda Holdings, a company owned by Tagwirei issued a press statement via leading and credible media outlets in the country such as The Herald, Zim Now and News Day distancing him from all social media accounts.
The Besana Mail – Zim Truth Radar verified the press alert with the company. Sakunda Holdings, Sales and Marketing Executive George Chiwakata confirmed this to be true.
“As stated in the press statement we made, Kudakwashe Tagwirei is not on any social media platform. We wanted to make that clear. I think more information is on the statement on why as the company we alerted the public,” said Chiwakata.
The company said Tagwirei is not on any social media platforms at this time and has not authorized any individual or entity to speak on his behalf online.
“These pages are being used to spread false information and, in some cases, scam people out of their money,” the release read.
